The Farm

The fish farm is part of the overall complex at Narborough Trout & Coarse Lakes and is fed off the river Nar which is SSSI because of its purity.

Water comes into the farm from the river at the "Farm Inlet" where it runs through a "Gravity Feed" which is a narrow concrete channel designed to put the water flow under increased pressure. The gravity feed supplies each of the "Raceways" or "Stockponds" with pressurized clean water which eventually leaves each raceway or stockpond via an outlet into the central stream which then joins back with the river.
